This post is for you, Rachelle :)

My sister in law, Rosa, from Growing Wisdom, shared a link with me recently that I wanted to share.  I just LOVE creative people!

Wow!  It's been crazy busy over here with school wrapping up and my sister Joan visiting over the past week.  A lot of celebrating and visiting under some beautiful Alberta blue skies.  And now, the un-routine of summer which is making it difficult to get some stuff done!

I've got a few orders that are pending which is awesome and I have tons of paperwork to do, which is not so awesome. Stay tuned.

Mrs. Bosch (my sister in law Evelyn's Mom) is the winner of Trinkets Metalcraft  Open House draw for a free piece of jewellery!  Congratulations!

Thank you to all those who came to see me at my 1st Open House Event and I hope that you are all pleased as punch with your new purchases.  I really had a great time and I'm re-energized to keep working at it and have another Open House in the Fall.

And now..I'm going to enjoy this beautiful Sunday and wish the very same to all of you.  God bless.

Open House, day 1.  Phew!  I had a good day with family and friends dropping by and looking forward to tomorrow morning to see who shows up :) I'm going to do a draw for a free piece of jewellery for anyone who has either come by already or comes tomorrow...so don't miss out.  Have a great Friday.

Sun today, even though the forecast was rain, rain, rain.  Just love those unexpected gifts!

Speaking of gifts...come and get one for yourself on Friday, June 15th from 10-2 or Saturday, June 16th from 10-12 at Trinkets Metalcraft's 1st Open House Event.  I've got a good selection of fun summer jewellery that may tickle your fancy and at prices that won't make a big dent out of your vacation budget.

Where?  At my place...27 Pineridge Crescent, St. Albert...I'm not difficult to find.  Just off of Boudreau and Campbell Road...google it!

Hope to see you!

It is the week of the deck painting.  Yes..finally...after 2 years of viewing a peeling deck in my backyard...I have found the courage to tackle it!  So, in between driving the boys to school, attending various lovely volunteer appreciation events, a birthday party, grocery shopping, getting my winter tires off and doing laundry, I've managed to scrape the entire deck and it's ready for painting.

This deck has a limited life span since Walt is determined to re-engineer and rebuild it in a couple of years but I'm hoping this will give it a new life.  Of course, the tree that hangs over one end is shedding copious amounts of blossoms that have suddenly made a rather untimely task.  But we think a tarp may solve the problem.  Anyway, I'm going to start on the other end and hope it has a quick cycle of shedding.

All this to explain that I haven't been making any jewellery but did stop by Bedrock Supply on the south side to peruse a few lovely things while I was in the area.  It's always good to poke around a jewellery suppliers to get inspired...and to spend a little money.

Here's a little something to look at until my next post:

Charming, isn't it?

While my basmati rice is soaking, I thought I'd post a little something while I wait.  Where has the week gone?  There is a busy weekend ahead with some wonderful things to celebrate...my Mom and Dad's 55th Wedding Anniversary and my niece, Paige, graduating from grade 12.  Out for dinner..two nights in a row!  And nary a thing to wear but the same old stuff...sigh.

I did, however, sit down for an hour today and put together a necklace for my sister in law's Mom using some beadwire (a flexible wire) and glass beads.  I made it a two strand necklace...you know...one of the those floating bead kind.  Well...a picture is worth a thousand words.

This photo isn't of the one I did today but is one that is in the shape of a "Y" ... a very flattering style (the dark bead has slid up in the photo).  This particular one I sold the other week to the daughter of a very dear friend.  I only have a couple left, so I'm going to make a bunch soon, well, soon-ish.

Hope you had a good Thursday.

If any of you read my status this week, you will be relieved to know that I have bounced back, yet again, and have slowly started tackling my list(s) again.

I had a fun time at the Mom2Mom sale with Rosa, of Growing Wisdom fame, and sold a few pieces of jewellery, met some people and generally enjoyed relaxing behind my table for a few hours.  The best thing about having an event to work toward is that it keeps me focused and organized and now I feel ready to approach a couple of local businesses to see if they'd like to have some of my jewellery on display.  Stay tuned.

Here are a couple of new creations:

so does this ring!

Have a great Wednesday!

Today and tomorrow I'm working at my desk and enjoying the space and time to make some fun new earrings.  Last night I drilled some smallish pieces of sea glass to be prepared for today.  The problem is, as soon as those creative juices are flowing, it's difficult to stay focused on one thing at a time!  That's why I have to be very deliberate about doing one small project at a time...earrings one day, rings another, taking photos another day...and on and on and on.

Aren't these sweet?

And here's a photo of what it looks like when I'm drilling...

You have to drill glass under water to keep it cooled, otherwise it will crack.  Looks like fun?  It is!!

Today is the day that I have to build a frame to hold my earrings for display and while searching online I found this lovely holder for the bedroom...not so great for selling purposes, but I really liked the vintage look of it.  Maybe you do too.

Thanks so much to my dear friends and cousin whom give me the little nudge I need to keep working on making original jewellery and that it makes them smile.  The best payment has always been knowing that someone else is wearing and enjoying your little creation.

And I need to elaborate on my sister-in-law, Rosa's new business, aptly named, Growing Wisdom.  She is THE green thumb in our large family and is offering some great opportunities to share her knowledge with either a "one on one" or group gardening workshop.  Check her out at growingwisdom.ca.

Rosa and I will be at the Mom2Mom Sale at Parkland Immanuel Christian School on May 13th from 9-1pm.  There will lots of "new to you" items for young children and Rosa and I will be flogging our wares too!

And, on that note, I must get my beauty sleep.  Here's a little photo of another Trinkets Metalcraft creation..love the little "M" imprinted on this piece of sea glass.

It's 11:02pm and despite my half-opened eyes, I am determined to write my first blog entry.  For those who have already seen some of my Trinkets Metalcraft designs on my Facebook page, this will be a more daily, or weekly, way to see what is happening in my little world.   And, I wanted to put a couple of pics up...one for my sister in law, Rosa, who I think will like this new little vase I've found (the one on the right);

and one of something I've made recently that I think you may like to see.  I'm hoping to keep posting something new to keep you in the loop on what's happening on my jewellery bench.  Hopefully, this will keep me on task too since there are always so many distractions.  That's what 1 husband, 3 boys, and a dog will do to your life!

So, have a look...tell me what you think...and stay posted.
